- ORGANIZE! The best way to get the most pages/projects accomplished is to organize beforehand. I always recommend using a scrap-organizer to layout your album(s) in broad terms prior to the event. For each 2 page layout:
- Select your favorite pictures for the pages/album
- Determine your theme and general color palette/paper selections
- Match your embellishments to the page designs
- Plan for any special embellishments
I recommend doing this for each 2 page layout you plan to accomplish on your weekend – you will have so much more time to devote to creativity!
- PLAN and PRIORITIZE! I always plan ahead by determining which albums I want to complete and prioritize accordingly.
- Always bring more projects than you think you can get done (but not too much more!) You never want to run out of pictures to crop on your retreat.
- Prioritize your projects – most likely you will not get through all your albums, even with the best intentions.
- Determine your most creative hour – I usually begin with a small, basic project to begin with each day because I know it takes me a while to get into the groove – once I’m in the groove, I switch it up to my more challenging and time-consuming projects!
· DRESS FOR SUCCESS! And by this I mean – wear your favorite sweatpants, t-shirt, PJs – you name it! Just make sure that you are comfy and ready to scrap!
